  • Therapy with me looks like: For starters - that the child wants to be there. I chose play therapy as my specialty because children will more likely be engaged in the process of therapy if they have a means of building a relationship with the therapist, besides talking. I take the child-centered approach, letting them lead and helping them find their own way. I make suggestions on potential methods of approaching situations or point out what could have caused a negative reaction, but do not tell them that they were/are right or wrong for their choices. I expect to parents to be a big part of treatment, to work as a team to help their child. This includes getting regular updates from parents, as well as meeting with them every few sessions to discuss progress and concerns. I work school hours 9-4 in order to find balance in my own life and be present for my own children. Ideal match for families who have alternative school schedules.

  • Fun fact: I am a former elementary school teacher.

  • My favorite hobbies: I enjoy spending time outdoors and being with my own children. I enjoy hiking and camping or even just going to the zoo. I am a Girl Scout troop leader for my daughter’s troop and enjoy working with the troop on new adventures. I take part in my son’s scouting activities with Scouting America (formerly Scouts BSA aka Boy Scouts).
