I love my job. I love collaborating with kids and families on their journey into all things mental health. Being a human is hard. Being a human responsible for guiding smaller humans as they explore the ever changing world is even harder.
As both a mother and clinician I am committed at normalizing the universal experience of being a human first. I have found when we know the "why" something is happening we are more eager to explore the next steps of moving towards healing. Understanding the human condition we all experience- including the glitches that often seem overwhelmingly dysfunctional to the multiple systems we interact with on a daily basis- is at the core of my therapeutic approach.
As a therapist I aim to partner with your child to create a trusting and equal relationship focused on inviting them to explore and learn with me about their brain, their needs, and their growth edges. It is important for me to provide psychoeducation to those I work with to reinforce the information, theories and science behind the approach I introduce to them in a way they can understand.
As a human there are some universal biological experiences that impact our brain and body's interaction with the world around us. Recognizing the difference between a biological response vs a defiant choice is key to determining next steps. Exploring the "root" cause of the symptoms or behaviors is a passion of mine, it is a game changer for a lot of kids and families.
The development of the relationship, a genuine relationship is key for therapy to be effective; for that reason I show up as the best version of me every day. I am not an exception to "being human is hard" experience. I try and combine my lived experiences as a wife, mother, daughter, therapist, friend, and human to connect in a real way to find ways to tweak, shift, change, replace whatever it is that needs attention in a way that is organic, applicable, sustainable and true. I have found what is true and beautiful for my family and I does not always what makes the most sense or easy- what its what is right for us. I am a parent to my child and no one else- so I am going to parent my child the way they need to be parented without explanation and hope to support those who choose to reach out for services with anchoring into the same safety, confidence and authenticity to nurture the true and beautiful in their life

What I expected: average online therapy. What I got: the warmest, most insightful, BEST fit I've had in a therapist. She is seriously the best! The flexibility in scheduling was fantastic, the site is easy to navigate. I’ve had a fantastic experience and I recommend Hopscotch and my therapist.
